Puppies are here! July 26, 2006

Around 3am this morning, Pepper woke Kim up to tell her it was time. How cute is that? :-) Pepper had 7... yes.. 7 gorgeous lil' puppies. Pepper was FAR bigger during her last pregnancy, so we did not think we would be expecting anything more than 5. max. First puppy was born at 3:15am and we thought that last one was born at 6:06am. Later today, Kim called and said... nope... there's 7! Since we weren't expecting any more, neither one of us counted them this morning. Pepper and her 7 puppies are doing well. Pepper is a great mom! The Doxie family watched & smelled the deliveries underneath the door. "Papa Sebby" had the right side of his face plastered to the floor so he could see what was going on. So... you see Sebby's nose & his brown eye... the whole time. :-) That's Sebastian for you. Everyone else took turns at the door.

It's an Isabella!! WOW!! 7-27-06

Lil' Isabella boy... This was a HUGE surprise for us. Diva's dad is an Isabella, so genetically it's very possible especially with Merlin being a blue. But... still... isabellas are still "rare" so to speak. Many people have never seen them let alone know that Isabella Doxies exist. Blues have become a bit more common. So, we were thrilled to see Mr. Issy Boy and GO DIVA!! :-) Oh.. and GO Merlin (but he had all the pleasure and none of the pain). :-)

It's a chocolate/tan dapple girl! YEAH!! 7-27-06

All of the "Budah" tummy rubbing has paid off. :-) With each breeding,.... there is a story. :-) Hopefully, our friend Claudia is ok with us telling this story. Claudia raises dachshunds. In fact, here's her website.http://www.distinctivedachshunds.com She is who bred Merlin, so lil' Merlie is from her. :-) (His dad is Mudbug & mom is Josie) She also bred Diva (Her dad is Iceman & mom is Adalida "Addi"). Sad story: Lil' Miss Addi passed away a few months ago. Addi had a very unique Doxie personality and she definitely passed it on to Diva. Well, as time passed, Claudia really missed having Addi around. So, she e-mailed wondering if Diva would have puppies anytime soon. We were going to breed Diva to Rustin (BIG chance of choclates & isabellas there), but we gave that decision to Claudia. She said she would really like a Diva/Merlin baby. And... the rest is history... and Diva had a little choc/tan dapple girl just like we wished for so Claudia could have a little bit of Addi. :-) So, Addi will live on through this lil' girl and we have NO doubt that she will be as much of a handful as her grandmother & mom! :-) Not to mention her dad!!! :-) We told Claudia there was no pressure, so she might decide it's not time yet. We'll have to see. Either way, Diva did a GREAT job!

A Black & Tan???....7-27-06

Genetically, anything is possible, but we weren't expecting a black/tan. We figured Pepper takes care of that color just fine! :-) Technically, Blue/tan is a dilution of the black/tan gene. This little guy is a cutie!

A silver dapple.....7-27-06

Again... another surprise. :-) Go Diva! Give us a colorful litter! :-) Silver dapple-aka: Black/tan dapple.... so many different technical names... just one cute coat color. I kept joking that Mr. Sebastian was the daddy of these two. Nevermind that Sebby is neutered (He STILL refuses to admit to that!)

Wanna see another cute pic???....7-27-06

Here's the little Silver dapple (aka Sebby Jr).. HA HA HA! Sebby Jr. came out of the womb just looking for some milk! HE WAS HUNGRY!! So hungry, that he had to resort to sucking on his leg while Kim was drying him off. Yes... Diva is a princess... She has the 2 of us by her side, devoting ALL attention to her. She seems to enjoy having Kim dry off the babies for her. She'll look at Kim to say "Is she/he doing ok?" and then go back to her babies that are nursing. Don't get me wrong, she cleans them, but I think she prefers having it done for her. Princess Diva... :-)

Mom... can you PLEASE put that camera away???....7-27-06

Still waiting... there must be one more. These are HUGE puppies compared to Pepper's. It was getting late... Diva kept going to sleep... and I had "chores" to do. So, I would tell Diva, "Ok D, Mom has to go outside & give the horses some hay"... what would Diva do?? Have a contraction.... and then go back to sleep. Such a tease :-) So, I'd tell her again... and what would she do? Tease me again. Not that I was really going to go anywhere, but it was funny.

ANOTHER Isabella!!....7-27-06

WOW!!! We were in shock! It's a girl.... a little baby girl Isabella! Wow. At this point, lil' Miss Daisy KNEW something was going on in HER room. She KNEW IT! The whole time, she was scratching at the door, whinning... just being a spoiled little puppy having a temper tantrum at the door because SHE couldn't come in. Needless to say, Daisy snuck in quite a few times as I was coming in & out of the room!! She would RUN over to Diva and just lay down. She KNEW she shouldn't be in there, but she just had to see the puppies! I would prompty pick her up before Diva had a fit, and put her outside. She would squirm, wiggle, & whine in delight as I was carrying her especially once we got out to the other Doxies. It was like she was saying to Bella, "Mommy... Mommy... I saw the puppies! I did... I did. And there are 2 that look like us... I promise there are!" HA HA I would just tell Daisy... yep Daisy... those are your brothers & sisters.

Diva's pups!....7-28-06

Here are Diva's puppies. What a colorful bunch! :-) These little ones are active & are moving around her welping box all of the time. Pepper's puppies always seem to stay in one place, but Diva's... they have to go in a box immediately otherwise they start traveling around the room! Within a day of being born, the silver dapple boy was "lost". We found him on the other side of the room. He was stopped by the dresser & the bookshelf. :-) The chocolate dapple female is already spoken for. If you read the other blogs on this litter, you will see that she is a special little girl. She is Claudia's little girl. :-) The rest of them are available. I will post more pics & prices. They are AKC registered.

The Milk Machine!!....7-28-06

Diva's puppies are always so big & full of energy. We often joke about Diva's magical milk of growth. :-) It's going to be hard to see all of these little ones go to their forever homes... We're going to miss them.

Pepper's Pups!....8-11-06

Sorry for the out-of-date blanket. :-) When you have pups, yo go through a lot of blankets, etc and you use anything you can find. Here are Pepper's pups sleeping together. AWWWW... How cute! :-) At this time, we have decided to not sell the little black/tan girl. She will more than likely be available for sale/adoption in the future, but just not at his time. She's the smallest in the litter (half the size of her brothers) and we want to make sure she gets big & strong before we even think about her going to her new home. The boys will be available and pics & prices are soon to follow. These are CKC registered.

Wolfgang....8-11-06

Wolfgang... where did we get this name??? :-) Ok, so he looks like little Sebastian (Sebby) with his minimal dappling and calling him Junior was out of the question. Sebastian registered name is.... (drum roll please) "Wolfgang Sebastian Bark" Yes... Sebastian Bach, the composer has nothing to do with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. But... Sebastian technically is Kim's dog (althought Sebastian claims he is everyone's dog! *grin) so she named him. The "bark"... if you know Sebby... you know where that came from! So... since this little guy looks like Sebastian, he gets to follow his name somehow and Wolfgang it is or Wolfie. :-)

Lil' Man....8-11-06

This little guy is soooo lucky! He's going to Florida to play on a dog beach!! I'm jealous! :-) Holly, Alan, and Gidget will be his new family. Holly & I talk often via email & I really have enjoyed our conversations! They haven't decided on a name for him yet. I affectionately call him Gizmo because when he lays on his back, he looks like the cute Gizmo on the movie, Gremlins. We also call him Lil' man :-)

Luke....8-11-06

Here's Luke at 16 days old. Ok... I must admit where we got his name from. Daisy, our Isabella puppy from Bella and Merlin, is a cousin to these puppies. Rustin (these puppies' daddy) is Daisy's uncle. Confusing, isn't it? :-) So, that makes Daisy, Cousin Daisy... like in the Dukes of Hazzard. HA HA!! So... we have Bo, Luke, and Duke! :-) Luke has darker tan markings than Bo.

Pepper LOVES to give kisses & so does each & every one of her puppies! Merlin & Diva are more selctive with their kisses & so are their babies. Funny...

Pearl....8-21-06

Little Miss Pearl! Wow... is she cute! :-) It's a good thing she's Merlin's baby as she will be wearing lots of sweaters where she is going. Cindy, Bret, and their children will be taking Pearl to Minnesota to live with them! Merlin LOVES to get dressed up, so let's hope Pearl loves it too because it's going to be cold up there!

Mr. Luke... such a cute picture! All of these guys are starting to show their personalities. So, this is a super fun time for us as we get to know each & every one of them. Having 11 puppies... it's going to take A LOT of time getting to know all of them! :-) Please... someone remind us not to have 2 litters at once again! Better yet... I guess we should have a talk with the girls about their heat cycle! :-)

Sleeping....8-21-06

Must be nice to be a puppy.... taking naps whenever you want to or when your siblings let you! :-) The little black & tan pup on top... on the bottom of the pic... that's the little Princess! :-) Tinkerbell is her name... ha ha. She's the smallest of both litters. She sure is adorable & is really figuring out just how adorable she is and how she can use that to her benefit! We don't have her listed yet as she is so small. We want to make sure she is 100% healthy before we list her as available. She sure will make a great little entertainer for a very lucky family.

Bo...CKC registered...$200

Hi! I'm Bo... As you can see I love playing & having my tummy rubbed. I love to cuddle & give LOTS of kisses! I'm a bit smaller than my look-alike brother, Luke, but that doesn't stop me. I still pounce on him and try to show him who's boss! :-) For the technical stuff: I'm CKC registered. My mom is Pepper & Dad is Rustin. And if you want to take me home, you'll have to chat with Kim and/or Alexi and make sure you pass with flying colors! They are pretty picky as to who we go home with. :-) ________________________________________________________________________________ Some more pictures of me... Taken Feb. 18 during a road trip to the park. I LOVE driving in the truck... always like to look out the window & go laydown in the backseat. The park was AWESOME... I'm just as "crazy" & playful as Bo, but a bit more laid back. :-) I would rather be with Mom getting hugs & kisses rather than playing with the gang. I'm definitely a Momma's Boy & PROUD of it! :-) I would love to go home to a great family who will spoil me & treat me as the King of the House (you know... like Sebastian... we LOVE playing with him!).
